Let’s Keep Our Dads Alive

This Father’s Day, give the gift of life by joining us Saturday, June 18th for the 2011 Prostate Health Seminar. We encourage men and their partners to enroll in this 9am-5pm event discussing conditions of the prostate, as well as the latest technological advancements in prostate care.

Discussions will be led by Course Director, Aaron E. Katz, M.D. and Co-Director, Philippa J. Cheetham, M.D. and will touch on several topics, including prostate cancer, benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH), and sexual health. Attendees will enjoy a continental breakfast, lunch, and an afternoon coffee break, as well as an interactive “Ask the Doc” session with our panel of experts. Session Details:

Prostate Cancer Session: Receive the answers to your prostate cancer questions in this informative session. Lectures will focus on the latest methods of prostate cancer screening and detection, as well as available prostate cancer treatments. Throughout the session, our panel of experts will discuss the efficacy of cryotherapy (prostate freezing), robotic surgery, radiation and brachytherapy (seed implants), as well as the role of holistic therapies in the pursuit of a prostate cancer cure. Other topics will include talks on the genetics and known risk factors of prostate cancer, in addition to discussions on prostate cancer prevention, including lifestyle changes and the use of herbal supplements.

The BPH Session: The symptoms, medication therapies and their side effects, and treatment strategies for an enlarged prostate will be discussed in this session on the topic of benign prostatic hyperplasia. Talks focused on the use of thermal therapy, Green Light Laser, and the latest prostate resection techniques will be held in addition to discussions on irritable bladder symptoms and its causes. We will also touch on the use of herbal therapies for the betterment of prostate health.

The Sexual Health Session: During this session, our panel of experts will present lectures on erectile dysfunction and the treatment options available to promote an active sex life. Topics will include the causes of erectile dysfunction and common treatments (non-surgical and surgical) used to improve sexual performance.

The “Ask the Doc” Session: The last session of the day, the “Ask the Doc” event opens the floor to attendee discussion. Here, audience members can ask our panel of experts questions unique to their case. Although not an official consult, the panel members will get a chance to discuss their opinions with inquiring attendees.
